Bernard Poussot was elected Chairman of the Board effective June
27, 2008. He was previously elected Chief Executive Officer of
Wyeth effective January 1, 2008. In January 2007, he was
appointed President, Chief Operating Officer and Vice Chairman,
Wyeth and a member of the Wyeth Board of Directors. Mr. Poussot
was responsible for overseeing Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Wyeth
Consumer Healthcare and Fort Dodge Animal Health, and also
served as Chair of the Operations Committee of the Corporation.
Mr. Poussot joined Wyeth in 1986 as General Manager France and
successively became head of Europe in 1991, Executive Vice
President in 1993, and President in 1996 of Wyeth International.
In 1997, Mr. Poussot became President of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals,
the global pharmaceutical division of Wyeth. In April 2006, he
became President and Vice Chairman, Wyeth. He has been an
officer of the Corporation since 1996.
Mr. Poussot began his career with Merck and Searle in
marketing positions in Europe and the USA.
He graduated from Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris in
1975 where he was elected Chairman of the Students' Council.
He fulfilled his military obligation as civil servant in
Casablanca (Morocco) in 1976-1977.
Mr. Poussot was awarded the Union League Founders Award for
Business Leadership in 2006 and also received the Sabin
Lifetime Award in 2003.
Mr. Poussot also serves on the Boards of the University of
Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, the Eisenhower
Fellowships, and the Opera Company of Philadelphia.
