Guest of Honor
The 2011
Leadership Award Recipient

Jean-Pierre Clamadieu
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Jean-Pierre Clamadieu has been CEO of the Rhodia Group since
October 2003 and was named Chairman of the Board in March 2008.
More recently, Rhodia and Brussels-based chemical producer
Solvay announced on April 4 their decision to merge and form a
new leader in the chemical industry. Once the offer is closed,
Clamadieu will join Solvay's executive committee in the role of
Deputy CEO. He is intended to succeed Solvay's current CEO upon
his retirement.
Between 1993 and 2003 Clamadieu held several executive positions
in the Rhodia Group, as President of Rhodia Chemicals, Latin
America; President of the Eco Services business, Senior Vice
President, Corporate Purchasing; and President of the
Pharmaceuticals & Agrochemicals Division.
Earlier in his career, he worked for nine years in various
positions within the French Civil Service. He graduated with
honors from the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Mines de Paris, a
leading higher education institute.
Clamadieu is Chairman of the Sustainable Development Commission
of the French business association MEDEF, and of the
Franco-Brazilian Business Council of the International MEDEF. He
is also Vice-President of the CEFIC (European Chemical Industry
Council) and a member of the Board of the ICCA (International
Chemical Industry Council).
Clamadieu is member of the Boards of Directors of Faurecia and
the SNCF.
Rhodia is an international chemical company
resolutely committed to sustainable development. As a leader in
its businesses, the Group aims to improve its customers’
performance through the pursuit of operational excellence and
its ability to innovate. Structured around 11 Global Business
Units (GBUs) within five business clusters, Rhodia is the
partner of major players in the automotive, electronics, flavors
and fragrances, health, personal and home care markets, consumer
goods, refining and industrial markets. The Group employs around
14,000 people worldwide, operates 65 production sites and
generated sales of €5.23 billion in 2010. Rhodia is listed on
Euronext Paris.
With its global headquarters in Paris, Rhodia’s North American
activities are based in Cranbury, N.J. The company operates a
research and technology center in Bristol, Pa., a manufacturing
facility in Marcus Hook, Pa., and 17 other production sites
across the United States.
