Mr. Colas joined Saint-Gobain in 1973. He held a variety of management posts within the company’s Flat Glass Division, before being appointed General Manager, Saint-Gobain Columbia, in 1980. From 1982 to 1986, Mr. Colas was Vice President, Industrial & Commercial Policy, for the Flat Glass Division. In 1986, he became Chairman of Vegla (Germany) and Director of Saint-Gobain’s Flat Glass business for Germany, Eastern and Northern Europe. Mr. Colas was named Vice President of Corporate Planning for Compagnie de Saint-Gobain, based in Paris, in 1992. From 1997 to 2000, Mr. Colas was President of Saint-Gobain’s Building Materials Division. He was then in charge of the Abrasives Division until 2003, when he was appointed Saint-Gobain General Delegate for Asia-Pacific. Mr Colas has been a member of the General Management Committee of the Saint-Gobain Group since 1992. He has a degree in civil engineering from Ponts et Chaussées (France) and a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University (United States).
