Porter McMillian, Jr. is the Senior Vice President and U. S. Sites Director of sanofi-aventis, Science and Medical Affairs in Malvern, PA. He joined Sterling Winthrop Research and Development in February 1994 as Vice President, Finance & Operations, and was named Senior Vice President, Finance & Operations for Sanofi Research when Sanofi acquired Sterling Drug in October of 1994. Mr. McMillian currently has responsibility for the Support Functions at all U.S. sites including Great Valley, PA, Bridgewater, NJ, Cambridge, MA and Tucson AZ, which include Finance, Human Resources, SIS (Scientific Information Systems), Purchasing, Security, Occupational Health and Wellness, SILS (Scientific Information & Library Services), IM (Information Management) and Facilities Operations. Prior to Sterling Drug, Porter held the position of Vice President Finance and Administration with Boehringer Mannheim Pharmaceuticals, Centocor, Inc., and Beecham Group, p.l.c. He started his career, following two years as an Army Officer, with Ernst & Ernst Public Accountants. Subsequent financial positions were held in The McCall Pattern Co. and the Canada Dry Corporation. Porter holds a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of
Washington in Seattle and is a member of the American Institute of Certified
Public Accountants.
