Board of Directors Valli F. Baldassano Executive Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer Cephalon, Inc.

Valli Baldassano is the Executive Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer of Cephalon, Inc.  Ms. Baldassano is responsible for Cephalon=s compliance program in all of its operations around the world.  Prior to joining Cephalon, Ms. Baldassano was a partner at the law firm Fox, Rothschild LLP where she was a member of the firm=s Litigation Department. 

Ms. Baldassano has extensive experience in the design and implementation of compliance programs for multinational corporations.  She served as Vice President of Global Compliance for Schering-Plough=s Global Prescription Business and Global Specialty Operations.  Ms. Baldassano joined Schering-Plough from Tyco International where she was brought in by new management as the Chief Compliance Counsel, responsible for creating Tyco=s compliance program.  Previously, she served as Senior Director, Global Compliance for Pharmacia Corporation and Senior Counsel for Compliance and Fraud for Independence Blue Cross in Philadelphia.  She spent 8 years as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Criminal Division of the United States Attorney=s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, where she prosecuted federal crimes relating to healthcare fraud, public corruption, insurance fraud and serious narcotics trafficking.Ms. Baldassano holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. and a J.D., magna cum laude, from Syracuse University College of Law.
