FACC Philadelphia Internships for College Students, Grad Students, & Recent Graduates

The Philadelphia Chapter of the French-American Chamber of Commerce is an independent, apolitical, non-governmental, nonprofit business association of 300+ globally-minded American Francophile and French business leaders. Internship Overview:
The FACC Philadelphia is seeking two dedicated volunteer interns. Whether you're an undergraduate, graduate student, or recent graduate seeking skill enhancement, this internship gives you the opportunity to make a significant impact in our member-supported business association.

The role involves hybrid work, requiring up to 10 hours per week of service for a minimum of seven months if you are enrolled full-time in a college or university, or up to 20 hours per week if you are not. We are generally able to work around your hours if you have part-time employment. Most FACC events are on Wednesday or Thursday evenings from 6 PM - 8 PM. 

 

Requirements:
Your functional laptop and cell phone are necessary. Professional business attire for events and meetings. 

 

Your Role:
As a volunteer intern, you'll train with experienced interns and the Executive Director for approximately one month. Excellent proofreading skills are mandatory. Projects are to be turned in for review with the Executive Director with minimal or no additional corrections needed. 

​

Internship Training includes:

  • Preparing Wix.com website event content and management of web content

  • Crafting weekly email event promotions and the monthly e-newsletter, L’EDITION, in MailChimp.

​

Both interns will use social media effectively, prepare for and assist at virtual and in-person events, train with the Executive Director in the QuickBooks Online accounting program, take meeting minutes, engage with FACC Officers, Board Members, Committee Members, and the FACC Corporate, Individual, and Young Professional Members, as well as future FACC Members, business contacts, and government officials. 


Recommended Qualifications: 

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Google Email, and Google Drive preferred. We also use Preview for Mac or Pages for Windows for editing images and .pdf documents.

Success will be demonstrated with the following essential traits:

​

  • Highly focused, carefully and thoroughly reads and carries out assignments in a timely manner,

  • Responsive and communicative when acknowledging requests,

  • Thinks through the project and poses intelligent questions if the answer was not provided in the instructions or cannot be found by googling,

  • Follows through and follows up on instructions as they are delegated and reports expected time frame to project completion,

  • Pro-active and takes the initiative to start and stay on top of weekly event promotions and the monthly newsletter, website updates, and social media,

  • Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail (format, spelling, grammar),

  • Is self-motivated and conscientious about completing projects to the best of your ability in a timely manner,

  • Requests new assignments prior to completion of current projects
