Event Details

The FACC Philadelphia was thrilled to partner with the Mid-Atlantic Eurasia Business Council (MAEBC) for the CPHI Conference at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. CPHI stands for "Convention for Pharmaceutical Ingredients". Their mission is to facilitate the growth and evolution of North American pharma by providing a forum for innovation, learning, sourcing, and networking.

CPHI organizes the most important and widespread series of global pharmaceutical events. Our gatherings are both renowned and revered—but it didn’t start in North America. With massive events throughout Asia, South America, Europe, and beyond . . . more than 500,000 powerful and respected pharma players from every aspect of the supply chain understand that CPHI is where they connect to learn, grow, and conduct business. With a 30-year tradition and an infrastructure fine-tuned to unite buyers, sellers, and industry trailblazers, we expanded this iconic worldwide events portfolio into the most progressive mega market on earth. Enter CPHI North America.

It’s true, the U.S. alone accounts for 40% of the world’s pharmaceutical sales and is home to 6 of the top 11 companies. But much more than that, this is a place of community-building connections. A forum for thought leadership. The hub of innovation. And it all comes to life at CPHI North America.

Wednesday, May 13th, 2026
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Free Webinar

Presented by:

 FACC Atlanta-Southeast Chapter

FACCAtlanda-Southeast.png

Overview:

The FACC Philadelphia was pleased to partner with the FACC Atlanta-Southeast Chapter for a web presentation focused on the unique financial planning opportunities and challenges facing Americans and Franco-Americans who are relocating to, or already living in, France.

Whether you are a U.S. citizen making the move to France for the first time, a dual national returning home, or a Franco-American family managing ties on both sides of the Atlantic, building a coherent financial plan across two distinct tax, legal, and regulatory systems requires careful coordination. When approached thoughtfully, these complexities can be turned into meaningful opportunities.

In this presentation, they walked through the key financial planning strategies to help you protect and grow your wealth as you establish or deepen your life in France. They covered how to minimize unnecessary tax exposure, invest effectively within cross-border regulatory limits, and structure your estate plan to function properly under both U.S. and French law.

Topics Included:

1.Residency and tax status – understanding what your move to France means for your U.S. tax obligations, French residency rules, and how the U.S.-France income tax treaty can work in your favor.

2. Investing across borders – avoiding PFIC pitfalls with U.S.-held funds, understanding restrictions on U.S. investment products for French residents, and identifying compliant investment structures.

3. Retirement planning – coordinating U.S. retirement accounts (IRA, 401(k)) with French retirement systems, and understanding how treaty provisions affect distributions and contributions.

4. Estate planning clarity – integrating U.S. wills, trusts, and beneficiary designations with French succession law and EU Regulation 650/2012 (Brussels IV), including forced heirship rules.

5. Actionable next steps – practical guidance on what to do before you move, shortly after arrival, and on an ongoing basis to keep your financial life aligned in both countries.

The Exhibition:

Renowned for his distinctive technique, Stéphane Koerwyn paints directly onto brushed aluminum plates, creating luminous works where light interacts with the metal surface to produce striking depth, brilliance, and reflection.

For this installation, the artist presented a unique artistic dialogue between art and couture. His works are mounted on sculptural aluminum dresses of varying sizes, transforming each silhouette into a contemporary canvas. The result is an elegant and immersive installation where fashion, artwork, and metal converge, creating pieces that shift and come alive with changing light and perspective.

Dreamworld:  Surrealism at 100

November 8th, 2025 to February 16th, 2026

In his Manifesto of Surrealism of 1924, André Breton celebrated the unbridled imagination as the key to freedom in all aspects of life. Artists responded by inventing a wide variety of new expressive forms designed to stir up the human capacity for wonder and amazement. Dreamworld: Surrealism at 100 featured approximately two hundred works by more than seventy artists associated with the international Surrealist movement.

In coordination with the Centre Pompidou of Paris, the Musées Royaux des Beaux-Arts de Belgique (Brussels), the Fundación MAPFRE (Madrid), and the Hamburger Kunsthalle (Hamburg), the PHam was the final stop of the exhibition tour. Each exhibit, in each location, has highlighted surrealist art that is unique to each location. The PHam was focused on European migrants fleeing to Mexico and the United States due to World War II.
