Mr. Michel Charbonnier, a Foreign Affairs Counselor, has served as the Consul General of France in Washington, DC, since November 12, 2015.
Throughout his diplomatic career, he served in various positions at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, notably with the service of Protocol and the Directorate of French People Abroad, and at the Embassies of France in Reykjavik, Algiers, Sarajevo, and Belgrade.
He was also Deputy Consul General in Los Angeles and, most recently, served as the Consul General and Director of the Institut Français in Stuttgart, Germany.
