Public Relations & Networking Strategies
To Boost Your International Outreach!
Program Overview
The French American Chamber of Commerce (FACC) was delighted to partner with Temple University's Small Business Development Center (SBDC) for the the last webinar in their International Business Bootcamp Series (IB2) entitled, "Public Relations and Networking Strategies to Boost Your International Outreach", featuring Barbara Wichmann, Founder and CEO of ARTÉMIA Communications. The series was meant to expand your knowledge and practical skills in global business and trade.
Representatives of small and medium-sized companies who want to boost their international outreach benefited from this program, which was initiated to prepare business people, entrepreneurs, innovators, and researchers for the June 3 - 6, 2024 BIO International Convention in San Diego. "BIO" is a leading event in biotechnology and life sciences where 45% of the attendees are international!
The series was designed by the SBDCs of Temple University and the University of Pittsburgh in collaboration with the NSF I-Corps Hub Northeast Region (National Science Foundation Innovation-Corps) which helps researchers explore how to transition discoveries into benefits for society via a consortium of 11 universities: Temple, Drexel, University of Delaware, Rutgers, Princeton, Lehigh, Delaware State, NJ Institute of Technology, Rowan, Yale, and the University of Connecticut.
Meet the Speaker
Barbara Wichmann, ARTÉMIA’s Founder and CEO, takes a decidedly international approach, something she credits to living in the Netherlands during her formative years. The country’s commitment to an ecological way of life, innovation-oriented attitude, and multicultural population shaped her core values of sustainability and diversity.
These values have served her — and ARTÉMIA — well as we navigate today’s dynamic, global markets. The agency stays true to its global focus by incorporating localization services in its offerings, thus ensuring that all content is culturally relevant – in the US and abroad.
After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in the Netherlands, Barbara earned a Master’s degree in the U.S. She worked internationally as a consultant before founding ARTÉMIA as a women’s business enterprise (WBE) in 1995. In both capacities, she developed and executed strategic communications and marketing as well as VIP partnership development campaigns for clients on multiple continents.
She continues to prioritize Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) in the areas of public outreach, Corporate Social Responsibilty (CSR) and Employee Resource Groups (ERG) initiatives as well as national advertising and culturally relevant, in-language marketing programs.
